As we start our study into the the Generational blessing I felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to start with the importance and power of Words. The Bible says that Life and Death are in the power of the tongue. Since blessings are uttered words spoken in faith. We start by understanding the impact of what we say. Jesus says of words "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks". So we find a spiritual principle and a Biblical Truth - Words are powerful, Words are Important, Words are results oriented and we don't control what comes out of us with our heads. Its the abundance, the overflow if you will, that spills from our heart that reveals the real quality of the fruit of our lives.
Words have the ability to change the very course of nature. Our primary example was found in James 3:6 the tongue can set on fire the course of nature. One translation states it this way, the tongue can alter the course and cycle of life. This will be real important as we move forward in our understanding of the Generational blessing. Just remember, the tongue is the physical member used to release what's contained in the heart. And the Bible says it can alter nature.

Jesus says if we abide in him, and his word abide in us ..... we ask what we will and it will be done unto us. John 15:1-7
It behooves us to place the Word of God in our heart. When spoken from our lips, they can alter the very course of nature for our lives.
